Storming in at (4-0), the Bruins knew better than to look past the (0-4) Blackhawks as they clashed in game one of the Bruins’ Jewish Community Center of Bayonne’s Jr. Division Floor Hockey doubleheader. With rookie goalie Michael Egan manning the net for the first time, the Bruins tested the Blackhawks’ captain right off the bat with two pinpoint goals by Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes and Victor Mendolaro both assisted by Matt Miceli. In less than two minutes, the Blackhawks trailed 2-0 but no one was ready to fold the tents as Egan settled in at net and their offense went on the hunt. At the halfway point, the Hawks knotted the bout as Logan Mazziota racked up two quick goals off assists from Marcelino Soliman and Alexandra Soliman. Emboldened by their new found firepower, the Hawks climbed into the lead as Marcelino Soliman made it 3-2 with a net jet as Harsh Easwar notched the assist. With less than ten minutes remaining, the Bruins Ryan Griffin sparked his sputtering squad by brick walling six rapid-fire shots on net. Fueled by Griffins’ effort, the Bruins tied the bout at 3 all when Thomas Canela lifted a pass to Alejandro Cifuentes who netted his sixth goal of the season. Starring at overtime, the Blackhawks’ Marcelino Soliman took matters into his own hands by drilling a face off goal with just seconds remaining as the Blackhawks stunned the Bruins and sealed their first victory of the season with a 4-3 win.
