Dear Editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank North Bergen Mayor Nick Sacco, North Bergen Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Hugo Cabrera, and the entire North Bergen Municipal Pool staff and lifeguards for a spectacular evening on Friday, August 16, 2013, at the township’s annual pool party.

This year’s theme of “On the Boardwalk” was beyond description. Within a matter of hours, the pool was transformed into a stroll on the Jersey Shore Boardwalk, complete with Garden State Parkway exit signs, a man-made boardwalk entrance complete with sand, flip flops, beach pails and shovels, beach patrol ATV’s, amusements for children (bounce houses, water slides, and rock climbing) and entertainment for adults (band, D.J., dancing and 50/50s). The attention to detail was outstanding: cotton candy, popcorn and ice cream stand, zeppoles, funnel cakes and much, much more. As in prior years, an abundance of hot and cold food as well as beverages was available – all of which were generously donated by local food establishments. Every year the pool does an outstanding job, but this year they went above and beyond.

We just wanted to extend our appreciation for a fun & memorable evening.

Sincerely,
2013 Members of the North Bergen Pool
