Relatives and friends shared in the celebration of the Eucharist on March 8 at the funeral mass at St. Ann's in Hoboken for Marguerite A. McKnight, 78, of Hoboken, formerly of New York City. She passed away peacefully at home on March 2. She was a retired grant coordinator for the Medical School at New York University Langone Medical Center, where she was a dedicated employee for 43 years. Marguerite's education began at Our Lady of Grace grammar school, then The Academy of the Sacred Heart High School, and finally St. Mary Hospital, School of Nursing all in Hoboken. Marguerite also completed The Barbizon Finishing School in New York City.

She enjoyed world travel and lived her Catholic mission continuously. She was an active parishioner at The Church of the Guardian Angel in Manhattan, and a Eucharistic Minister assigned to Bellevue Hospital, a division of NYU where she was employed. Marguerite often assisted on the Bread Line for St. Francis of Assisi parish in NYC for many years. She will also be remembered by many for her most beautiful professional singing. A longtime resident of Manhattan, she returned to Hoboken in 2013 due to illness.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, John F. McKnight, Sr. and Paulina, nee D'Aniello and two brothers, Reverend Robert J. McKnight and Gerald P. McKnight. She will be sadly missed by her brother, John McKnight, Jr. and his wife Bernardina and her only nephew, David J. McKnight and his wife Catherine and their children David John, Jr. and Anastasia Marie, and a host of endeared cousins.

The family gratefully acknowledges the excellent health care and companionship of her caregiver, Lule Popaj for the past four years.

Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
