Hoboken councilman to host community discussion on medical marijuana

Hoboken community members are invited to attend a community educational event on medical cannabis on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m.

The event, hosted by Councilman Michael DeFusco, will include a panel of medical experts and doctors based in Northern New Jersey, industry experts, and former Pueblo County Commissioner Sal Pace of Colorado.

The expert panel will speak to the science and medicine of cannabis while Pace will address Colorado’s medical cannabis experience from a regulatory and community impact standpoint.

This comes after the council, on Dec. 19, approved of zoning changes to allow up to three medical marijuana dispensaries in certain parts of town.

The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at Antique Loft, 33-41 Newark Ave.
