A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City, for Dr. Kenneth H. D’Elia, 68, of Jersey City and Bayville. He died unexpectedly on June 24. Ken was born to Dr. Vincent and Estelle D’Elia. He graduated from the University of Louisville in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and from National College of Chiropractic in 1976 with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. He practiced chiropractic with his brother Thomas for 32 years in Belleville, before retiring in 2008. Ken married the late Lane D’Elia on Nov. 18, 1984, and on Jan. 3, 1986 they welcomed their son, Michael, who was the most important part of Ken’s life. Ken enjoyed fishing, boating, smoking cigars, fantasy football, watching the Yankees and Giants, and tinkering around the house. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters, the loves of his life. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him. He is survived by his son Michael and his fiancé Nicole Anderson; his three granddaughters, Elanea, Selena and Madeline; his brother Vincent and his wife Maureen; his brother Dr. Thomas and his wife Theresa; his nephews and nieces, Thomas (Nicole), Daniel (Evelyn), and Mark; and great nieces Giana and Jocelyn, and great nephew Lucas.
