Jersey City applauds hospital staff

The Jersey City Police Department and Jersey City Fire Department took time out of their Friday morning to drive by the front of Jersey City Medical Center and Christ Hospital and applaud the front-line workers.

With lights blazing and sirens blaring, officers and firefighters lined up in front of their vehicles to clap and salute the hospital personnel who have been on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic since March.

As of May 26, there have been a total of 6,124 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Jersey City and 415 fatalities.

According to the city’s data, as of May 26 Christ Hospital was treating a total of 37 COVID-19 patients, and Jersey City Medical Center was treating 38 COVID-19 patients.
