Hoboken provides popup testing
Hoboken will provide free COVID-19 testing for residents only at the Jackson Street Gymnasium Aug. 17 and 18.
When registering, residents must provide a driver’s license or government-issued identification with a Hoboken address, and health insurance information if they have it. The city will pay for those without insurance. Walk-ins not permitted.
North Bergen Library: Pickup ‘n power bars
Through August, North Bergen library locations are offering free Clif Bars with curbside pickup, with prior consent from patrons with food allergies.
Hoboken Wellness Crawl goes virtual
HobokenGirl.com will celebrate health and wellness in Hudson County with a Virtual Hoboken Wellness Crawl and 30-Day Challenge from September 13 through October 13.
More than 100 businesses will get online exposure, and Crawlers will get deals and giveaways.
A 30-day ‘Support Local’ wellness challenge will be hosted on @hobokenwellnesscrawl.
Twenty percent of profits will go to the Hoboken Relief Fund.

Free outdoor movies in North Bergen
Mayor Sacco and NB C.A.R.E.S. are sponsoring outdoor movies on Thursday nights. Residents should not bring chairs and must stay six feet away from each other.

Man found fatally shot in Hoboken
On Aug. 7, just after 10:30 p.m., Hoboken police Department responded to an apartment on the 300 block of Grand St. on a report of a deceased male, according to a press release from the Hudson County Prosecutor.
Marquise Davis, 26, of Willingboro, suffered apparent gunshot wound(s) to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Free meals and snacks are being provided to all residents, 18 and under. Names of minors must be provided when adults pick up.
Pick up at Elementary Schools 1, 2, 3, 4 and the Middle School, Monday through Friday, weather permitting, until August 28, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Social distancing must be observed.

The Hudson Community College free event will include live storybook readings, new books and art, free resources, art classes, and exposure to authors and vendors.

One three-person slate for the Hoboken Board of Education filed nominating petitions, running unopposed on the Nov.3 ballot.
