NB C.A.R.E.S. gave out about 300 costumes to North Bergen children at its 6th annual Halloween Costume Giveaway on Sept. 30.
Costumes for all
Numerous tables were piled high with costumes of all styles and sizes in the Recreation Center. Families were allowed to browse to find the perfect costume for each child.
Mayor Nicholas Sacco was on hand to open the doors and greet each family, along with Freeholder Anthony Vainieri.
“All of the children had such a great time looking through and picking out costumes!,” Sacco said. “Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers (who had just as much fun as the kids) and all of the wonderful Recreation staff for pitching in and helping out.”
Social distancing was maintained with only a limited number of people allowed inside at one time.
Volunteers helped the kids sort through the costumes arranged by age groups. Kids could select Halloween accessories to take home for the holiday.
“Amazing turnout and great event,” Sacco said. “Big thank you to Walmart North Bergen for their generous donations and making this event possible every year!”
NB C.A.R.E.S. has also distributed school supplies and food to local students.
There will be another giveaway on Halloween.
