Help is on the way!

North Bergen is offering free tax preparation services to certain residents, courtesy of the Nicholas J. Sacco Foundation.

The township has hired a Certified Public Accounting Firm to provide free tax preparation services for senior citizens and disabled residents, according to Mayor Nicholas Sacco.

Those eligible include residents over the age of 55 or those in possession of proof of disability with yearly income below $60,000. Proof of residency is required.

One, two, three

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no in-person appointments. A new three-step process allows taxes to be prepared remotely.

Eligible residents should call 551-262-0843, and personnel will indicate what documents need to be gathered.

In step two, eligible residents will gather the appropriate documents.

In step three, eligible residents will mail their documents to Sacklow & Acox, CPAs, LLC at 295 Montgomery Street, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.

Documents can also be emailed to SaccoTaxes@gmail.com.
