American Legion Post 19 Coat Drive

Dear Editor:

American legion Bayonne Post 19 annual coat drive was held during the months of November and December and could not have come at a better time, Post 19 wants to thank the citizens of Bayonne for their generosity. We were expecting a small donation this year because of the pandemic but Bayonne proved that they are always willing to help those less fortunate. This years donation far exceeded what we expected, we received over 400 coats. We want to thank BCB Bank, Elbaums and Senerchia Deli as drop off points besides our Post. Mike Wilson Commander of the Post would like to thank Stan Komorowski a member of Squadron 19, Sons of the American Legion for putting together this years coat drive.

Again this year we assisted Homeless Veterans and Veterans who can not afford coats for the winter thru Community Hope, they are the largest most comprehensive program for homeless Veterans in New Jersey, here they can house up to 95 male and female homeless Veterans located at the Lyons Veterans Administration facility.

Once again thank you to our community of Bayonne for another successful coat drive making this years coat drive an outstanding success.

Mike Wilson
