The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Jersey City man who was fatally shot April 13 on Wilkinson Avenue near Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City.
According to the HCPO, on April 13, just after 11 p.m., Jersey City police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 162 Wilkinson Ave.
Officers found a 21-year-old man – later identified as Rodney Wallace – who had sustained gunshot wound(s) to the upper body.
He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 11:44 p.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
A second victim, a 22-year-old man, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating this case.
No arrests have been made at this time.
