Play explores Jersey City’s connection to the Underground Railroad

Speranza Theatre Company presents “Walk By The Way Of The Moon,” by Jacqueline Kennedy – a 30-minute family-friendly historical play about Jersey City’s connection to the Underground Railroad.

This show will tour to parks throughout Hudson County in September 2022.

All performances are free and open to the public. Reservations required, donations appreciated. Please bring your own lawn chair. In the story, Ten-year old Fleta Hazel’s enslaved family makes the difficult choice to run for their freedom. Not knowing what’s ahead, young Fleta Hazel must find the courage for the long and dangerous trip, fueled by hope for a new life at their final stop, Jersey City.

All performances will be free and open to the public – bring your lawn chair. Reservations required.

Runtime: 30 minutes. There will not be an intermission.
Recommended Age: 6+
